Northern Red-bellied Cooter Turtle NC Turtles Turtles in NC Nature Mother Nature

I found a cute little turtle while walking the dog in the woods not far from the pond. I'm not sure what kind it is but from looking online at the different types of turtles in North Carolina, I'm thinking maybe it is a Northern Red-bellied Cooter but I have no idea. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks.
