Mama June Shannon’s older sister Joanne “Doe Doe” Shannon is nothing but “proud” of her niece Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, who was recently featured in Teen Vogue.
The 15-year-old reality star was the subject of a Teen Vogue feature published Wednesday where she opened up about her personal life and her decision to let go of her image as that “boisterous little girl” that everyone came to know as Honey Boo Boo because of her previous reality shows.

In her cover story, entitled “ Her Name Is Not Honey Boo Boo,” Thompson made it clear that she’s embracing her teenage years with her real identity.
“My mama did not name me Honey Boo Boo.
My name is Alana,” she said, before vowing “to be the best I can be” and to “try my hardest” to achieve her dreams in life.
