It’s a curious time right now.

Many building owners we speak with are concerned about construction waste needlessly filling landfills and they are also frustrated by the current shortages and long lead times. They can’t get the new roof they planned this year.

But this problem has a silver lining, it forces us to Think Differently.

Here’s why they are concerned:
1) 50% of all roof replacements are unnecessary.
2) 36% of landfill volume is from construction debris.
3) 10% of landfill volume is from roofing debris.

Even incremental improvement in those numbers can have a profound #environmental impact.

So, if you’re concerned about filling landfills, frustrated that your roof can’t be done because of material shortages, does it make sense to think differently about your roofs?

A possible solution is a vented roof system which may eliminate the need to tear off the old roof, and the need for insulation that isn’t available, and can be made with materials that can be recycled at end of life.
