The Sovereignty of God

Sovereign means that God controls all things. There is nothing that is outside of God’s wise control, even the exact time and place for each person to live. No one tells God what to do.

There are no limits to God’s rule. This is part of what it means to be God. He is sovereign over the whole world. He is never helpless, never frustrated, never late, and never at a loss.

Whenever God acts, He acts in a way that pleases Him. God is never forced to do a thing that He despises. He is never backed into a corner where His only option is to do something He hates to do. Never! He does whatever He pleases to do.

2 Samuel 7:22 says How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.

Don’t let the enemy defeat you. Don’t let him tell you that you can’t be a co-worker of Christ. Because you can.

Let’s talk about Satan for a quick second so that we can understand who we’re battling against.

John 8:44b says speaking of Satan -
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Now that we know, we can use God’s battle plans, tools, and weapons to defeat our real enemy.

The enemy has twisted our thinking and it’s time to unwind our mind and take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.

With that in mind and the fact that God is the most powerful being to ever exist past, present, and future - He will not come to your house help you off your couch and move your legs and your arms for you so you can say that you exercised.
