Parents are fighting for leverage and control of their children's education

The coronavirus pandemic disrupted the lives and education of the nation’s 50 million public school students. Students endured lengthy school closures and inadequate remote learning. Fed up parents are challenging the power of teachers’ unions and unresponsive school boards. Many frustrated parents are now homeschooling their children or enrolling them in private & micro schools. Twenty states expanded or created new school choice programs in 2021. All families should possess purchasing power to direct their children’s educational path. States should continue to expand school choice options so families have leverage and control of their children’s education.
