Ride With Us To See A Space Capsule
After having a great lunch in Wellston at The Butcher Stand, Leah and I ride Northeast to Tulsa OK. When then head North on Highway 169 through Oologah and Talala Oklahoma. We find ourselves turning off on to E 300 Road to Winganon and we find something that should be orbiting the globe!
It is the Winganon Space Capsule.
Legend has it that In 1959, a construction vehicle got into a wreck while transporting cement to a bridge being built across nearby Oologah Lake. The mixer rolled onto the side of the road, where the cement inside it quickly began to harden into a solid block. Being too heavy for a Towtruck to haul away, they detached the mixing bowl and took the truck leaving the bowl. For many years it had been tagged by graffiti artist till back in 2011 a couple decided to give it a makeover.
