State of Emergency Declared In Rome.
The rains may have ended that caused flooding issues in the Boonville area and southern Lewis County, as well as caused the evacuation of some residents in Westernville.
But, the full impact of the flooding may not have been fully felt as of Thursday night.
Because of the record high water level at Delta Dam and its impact of the Mohawk River and Woods Creek, Rome Mayor Jacqueline Izzo has declared a State of Emergency in the Copper City.
Rome’s Police and Fire Departments are urging city residents in the flood affected areas to evacuate immediately.
For those who are not able to secure shelter with family or friends, a Red Cross Shelter has been set up at Rome Free Academy with the help of the Rome City School District.
