Ping Pong Ball Replaces GunPowder

2.0 gns ping pong ball and a Winchester Mag Primer were placed into a 9mm casing. I concluded that the particle size of the ping pong ball was critical to giving the powder the correct burn rate. The overall conclusion was that I should have purified the nitrocellulose (from the ping pong balls) and then filed and collected the particles after filing. The correct metal file is the double cut bastard. Purification could be achieved by dissolving the ping pong balls in acetone (fingernail polish remover) and filing the resulting "cookie" (after it dried of course).Show more
