Curious Case of Bread in Communist Countries

In theory, communist countries had certain set of core values which included almost free essential groceries.

In theory, government subsidized bread costed 1 $.

In reality:
- you would pay 1 $ for the bread
- you would need to buy a coupon (food stamp) for 1 $
- or wait for 1 h to get the coupon (food stamp)
- stay in line and wait for bread, 1 more hour (or you could pay the professional "line waiter" to wait in line for you)
- government would force a farmer to sell flour for 0.1 $
- they would add a lot of corruption, 1.9 $
- in order to cover the cost, they will print money and make inflation

So far, so good, 1 $ bread will cost you the equivalent of 50 $!

However, that's not the end, because you will buy it and use most of it to feed your chicken and hogs.
