The Teen With The Giant Hands | BORN DIFFERENT

KALEEM, 13, from Jharkhand, India was born with an undiagnosed condition which has affected the growth of his hands. His hands have grown rapidly throughout his childhood, and now each hand weighs around 2.5kg. Kaleem explained how this impacts his day-to-day life: “I do face difficulties with putting on clothes and washing, so my mom helps me sometimes.” He has undergone surgery before, but the results did little to reduce the size of his hands. During his younger years, Kaleem was bullied for his appearance: “People would always ask questions and judge him. They call him the son of the devil and run away from him in fear,” his mother Halima said. Despite these challenging times, Kaleem takes it all in his stride and doesn’t let it affect his everyday teenage life. He enjoys playing cricket with his friends and enjoys making videos on his successful Instagram and TikTok platforms. Users comment and ask questions about his hands and Kaleem is glad that he can spread “lots of inspiration from all the hard work” he puts into his content. “I ignore the stares, I am happy with my life”, he said. “God has made me the way I am so I don't have to worry about anything.”
