Bucked Will

Angry, Mad? Sometimes things change suddenly and we don’t like it, so we buck up our will against God, we get mad and we hold up our hand. No! No! We hold up our hand in that “talk to the hand” mean spirited way. We don’t want to hear from God! Our will is bucked up so high that nothing can get in. We will not move. God suddenly does something new and it doesn’t feel so good. So how does bucking up our will against God help us? It doesn’t! It makes things worse. Things were going so great and suddenly you feel like a piece of beached driftwood, cooking in the heat. Why? Lord Why? Why are you doing this? It makes no sense. This is extreme and I will not go through this. Been there and felt that, where suddenly things change and there is no way out of the heat. Surrender is the last thing we want to do, we want understanding, we want God to change it up, to get us out. But, many times God leaves us right in the middle of the roaring heat and He asks us to grow through with Him. When a suddenly uncomfortable life season comes upon us, and God does not change it up, and there is no understanding, then surrender is the way to peace. Isn’t that an oxymoron kind of like, cruel kindness? No doubt about it, surrender is the way to growing through with peace. Been there and done it and known God’s peace that surpasses all understanding. Also know that some of the hardest things God has asked me to grow through, have been, in heavenly hindsight, the most valuable times of spiritual growth for me.
