Episode 30: Making Yogurt at Home -with recipe!

Bryce thought I (Angel) should share an old recipe of something I used to make a lot when the kids were young & lived at home. I don’t think I would consider myself a 100% “crunchy” momma, but I did a lot of “crunchy” momma things — like make yogurt!
Bryce’s eldest sister, Kara, shared this with me when our boys were knee high to a grasshopper!
Ingredients:
2 cups milk
1 T plain yogurt
(you can use this ratio to make as much as you would like — I usually make a quart or half-gallon)
Directions:
Using a medium to large pan over medium-high heat, stirring often, warm the milk to 180 degrees F. Remove from heat & let cool to 110 degrees F (105-115 is just fine). Add the yogurt & whisk to combine. Pour this all into a jar & put on the lid. Cover the entire jar with towels & put in a dark place for 12-24 hours. The longer is ferments, the more thick it gets as well as more sour. Keep in the refrigerator & then eat it how you like it best — me, I like a dabble of maple syrup & a handful of fresh fruit & granola!
