A quick tour of the pepper beds.

3/27/2021 All peppers were sown in cell modules.
5/5/2021 Peppers were transferred to 4" pots.
7/4/2021 First bed of peppers were planted out into the garden.
7/8/2021 Second bed of peppers were planted out into the garden.
7/28/2021 Last bed of peppers were planted out into the garden.

When first planted out, I tie each plant to a stake to keep it from blowing over in the wind. Later, as the plant gets taller, I attach a loose loop of twine to the stake that goes around the top branches of the pepper plant. This helps to keep the branches from being broken off from the wind. I label each plant with a label written with a paint pen. I attach the label to the stake. I like to do it this way, so that I don't have to rummage around through the leaves at the base of the plant to find the name tag. I put a tennis ball type dog toy on top of each stake to pad the sharp stake so that if I am bending over to weed or to pick peppers, I do not poke my eye out.
