Is Rand Paul Really a Freedom Fighter?

Rand Paul's exchanges with so-called Dr. Fauci have garnered quite a bit of attention as of late. Did Rand Paul hold back info which could have started an investigation into Dr. Fauci's dealings with the Wuhan lab? If so, why? Is Rand really a chip off the old block?
