Road cycling is one of the main types of cycling, practiced outdoors, on tracks often asphalt. This sport emerged in Europe during the nineteenth century, and benefited from the rapid development of bicycle industry technology, before spreading around the world, gaining popularity and a great media following. Road bike competitions are conducted in individual or team formats, and feature special techniques and great physical demands. Among the most important types of sports: straight races, stage races, and anti-clock races.
