My Test Before My Testimony: a Poem I Wrote Before I Became Homeless

Hello, my name is Teodrose Fikremariam, I am the editor and cofounder of the Ghion Journal. I made a decision to start telling aspects of the story of how I became homeless in 2015 today.

For the past 6 years, I kept large tracts of that story to myself fearing judgment, what happened to me is too sublime to believe so I feared judgment. But recent events have turned what would have seemed impossible to believe very believable, what happened to me back then was but a preview of what is about to happen to all of us.

The story will be published in the next 24 hours, for now, this is a poem that I wrote right before I became homeless. There are parts that are written in Amharic (the official language of Ethiopia) here is a chance to share this with an Ethiopian person and ask them what it means.
