Oman (/oʊˈmɑːn/); Arabic: عُمَان), officially the Sultanate of Oman (Arabic: سلْطنةُ عُمان), is a country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia and the oldest independent state in the Arab world.
"as-Salâm as-Solṭâni" (Arabic: السلام السلطاني‎, meaning 'Peace to the Sultan") is Oman's national anthem; it is an ode dedicated to Qaboos bin Said (1940–2020), the former Sultan of Oman.
