After learning about the Sackler case from a man who can only be described as penguin from Batman going on a diet, I want to tell anyone affected by the opioid epidemic how to deal with opioid addiction

Step#1: Get support (From friends, family, professionals to help you recover. Remember that people care about you and want you to get better.)

Step#2: Set a goal (Set some goals you know you can do. These goals can be cutting back on usage or not using it for a certain amount of days. If you need help to make sure your on track, there is no shame in that)

Step#3: Go to therapy (Since opioids are very addictive, using different forms of therapy could help you deal with withdrawal. The different forms of therapy I'd suggest are meditation, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive therapy. I also recommend interventions in order to kickstart your journey)

Step#4: Get treatment (There are different treatments and medicines available. Some medicines include Zubsolv, Probuphine, CAM2038, and Methadone and Buprenorphine. Additionally, there are treatments provided by General practitioner that are proven to help with addiction )

Step#5: Do research (You shouldn't use this use this video as your only source of information. Look for credible sources and to make sure your make the best decisions possible. Try to find some studies, research articles, and actual stories of people overcoming opioid addiction. Try looking into the sites I used, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3223744/, https://www.healthline.com/health/types-of-therapy#cbt, https://www.therecoveryvillage.com/opiate-addiction/family-support/#:~:text=Effective%20Ways%20to%20Help%20Someone%20With%20Opiate%20Addiction,and%20stick%20to%20them.%20...%204%20Provide%20support. You can also ask medical experts (professors, doctors, etc))
