How to Manually Release the Transmission Selector Lever in a Porsche Cayenne

In the event of an electrical fault, the selector lever locked in the P position can be manually released.

1. Raise center armrest
2. Use the key tool for emergency operation of the sliding/lifting roof to undo the screws in the center console
3. Remove trim mounting
4. lift trim at the rear and carefully pull it off
5. Unplug plug connection to the driving program controller
6. Press the locking lever aside to the left with a screwdriver
7. Move transmission selector lever to the N position
8. Reassemble in reverse order.
