Gain of function research is dangerous, and risks a supercharged virus leaking and creating a serious risk to the world and it can't just be left to the scientists to decide whether we do this.
And we should ban all research on viruses or anything else that would benefit a military that are threatening the sovereignty of Taiwan, that is refusing international law in the South China Sea, and continues to oppress its own people in Xinjiang and Hong Kong.
