Argus Tower 2020

A scuba diving expedition to the Argus Tower in August of 2020. The tower was an experimental submarine listening post built by the US Navy during the cold war. It resembled an oil rig with legs extending 200 feet to the sea floor and a cabin above the waves. It sits atop the Plantagenet Sea Mount which is about 30 miles southwest of Bermuda. When it was no longer needed the tower had explosive charges set on its legs and was blown onto its side so that it was no longer a navigation hazard. The top of the tower is between 33 and 36 metres below the surface (110 feet). It attracts schools of fish such as Jacks, Barracuda, Bermuda Chubs, Sharks, etc.. and makes a truly remarkable dive, deep in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle.
