The Eternal Flame is an ever burning natural gas flame within a waterfall located at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, New York. The flame is created by naturally occurring gas which seeps up through the shale rich ground and God decided to put a waterfall right where it seeps out! The flame never goes out and will continue to stay eternally lite until the natural gas reservoir runs out. In the Northeast region of of United States, natural gas is an abundant resource and commonly found in cracks between the shale. Fracking is quite common in the region but, is not allowed in New York State. Chestnut Ridge Park is located in a small Western New York town south of the City of Buffalo. The park feature miles and miles of hiking trails, paved walking and biking paths and shelters for picining with small charcoal grills, garbage cans, benches, access to town water and some sites even have a small refrigerator and electric stove inside the shelters! It is a beautiful Park that will suite every need from family get togethers and reunions, boy scout meetings, picnics, playgrounds for kids and there is a hiking and biking trail for every level from newbie to amateur to expert. The winter brings plenty of lake effect snow in the Western New York area and there are cross country ski paths, small down hill slopes and a large tubing hill! Thanks for watching and be sure to follow for more neat, random content!
