I Am Calling You Higher, Let Go of Self-Will

(Transcript - Part 1)

Hello brothers and sisters and Heartdwellers family. May you all be blessed.

Lately when I have been doing correspondences and giving counsel to people, I have noticed a running theme of many making major decisions without seeking the Lord's will. I would hear "Well I prefer, well I want, or I think, I desire." I, I, I, rather than anyone truly desiring to seek the Lord’s will.

I have found many of us don’t want to seek the Lords will in fear that he will say no or better yet, you already know it won’t really please him so you would rather move forward with what you desire and pray that Jesus is okay with it. However, as Heartdwellers we have the unique privilege and honor to truly have union with God. To be one with him by living out his will moment by moment if we would seek it out and be obedient to it. I noticed that when I gave council or a suggestion many would put it off and still continue on in their own thinking and in their own decision and in their own preferences. As I prayed behind them hoping that they were in the Lord’s will, or he would make it clear to them if they weren’t.

I found myself a bit grieved about that hoping the Lord would speak to me about that so that they could hear his heart on that matter. But you know my Jesus, if he exposes anything in anyone, he starts with me first and shows me how much of a failure I am and how I do the exact same thing if his grace and mercy didn’t sustain me.

This morning as I was grieving over these situations, I got a reading of repentance and selfishness during my Lord's Supper. First, I thought it was about the nation, then Holy Spirit brought to my mind how I had just done an act of selfishness and been in self-will rather than abandoning myself to the Lord, showing charity and trusting providence.

I am a hot mess guys, so this is what happened. Before prayer I decided to grab a bowl of cereal. One of the brothers in the community had come before and used my milk to make cereal when at his place they have a fridge and milk available there. So with this in mind, there were two boxes of milk in our fridge one that was 0% fat free milk, which I didn’t like and don’t use which was in the back of the fridge and mine, the whole milk which was in the front of the fridge. I secretly thought in my heart let me switch the milk and put mine in the back and the fat free in the front. So in case he comes to use our milk he won’t use mine. I know, I am a hot mess. I stopped for a second feeling that conviction, but I did it anyways. So when I got that reading, that was quickened to me, what I did and how that grieved the Lord. After receiving the Lord I felt that Jesus wanted to speak to me and I came before him saying,

Good morning Lord,

Thank you, Lord, for calling out my selfishness with the milk this morning and with the reading during the Lord’s Supper. At first, I was tempted to get discouraged, but realized you are right. You’re always right and how I was selfish and full of self-love in my motives by putting my milk in the back so that brother couldn’t use it. Lord, forgive me.

Jesus responded,

“You are forgiven, dear, and I want you to rectify that now, Beloved. When I show you things, don’t wait, but do them immediately. Okay little one? So you then, become a better example to all.”

Okay, Lord (so then I stopped writing and went to the fridge to switch the milk back, putting my milk in the front, or should I say our community milk in the front because when you live a communal life nothing is yours it’s for everybody and I know better. I then came back to sit with the Lord and continued writing).

Jesus continued,

“Thank you, Beloved, I am calling you higher. Much, much higher and these are some of the same vices and weakness in your nature I want you to really conquer. You have graduated into a new level of intimacy with me, a new level authority and a new level of anointing which also comes with new devils as well. You can’t continue to allow them to cause you to fall by using the same tactics and tricks because you have become lax in your attitude and mind. But I want you to make a firm resolve in your will to live in holiness and to really crucify this old nature of yours or it will really become a hinderance moving forward.

“You must be selfless until the last drop especially now as a Mother and soon enough you will have your own children as well.

(Jesus was smiling)

“Yes, you must relinquish all self-love and truly practice self-forgetfulness as you are teaching others. Live by what you teach beloved, that will be the most powerful witness. You must also now be willing to share your time with others. You must give your spiritual children the time they need, to train them, teach them, be there for them and love them.

“I would like you to do that with Magdalene a bit more. I know you both are busy with the task I have given you, but she also needs to be prepared by you, for this mission. So that inspiration I just gave you earlier, is from My Spirit. This will help, coupled with prayers, to truly inspire her and bring her whole heartedly in this mission. I have called her too because it is her vision and mission too. Don’t worry she will be a wonderful support and companion for you.”

As an aside Jesus is speaking of Mother Magdalene who will be my companion for the City of God Community in Ghana. We now stay together in the same hermitage on the mountain in preparation to draw near to each other and prepare one another for what’s ahead. She had made it known to me that she was struggling a bit with the work in Ghana, and I was concerned if she was really committed but we followed the inspiration the Lord gave and talked through a couple of things. I would appreciate your prayers for her.

I said, Thank you so much Lord for these encouraging words.

Jesus responded, “I know you have had other concerns.”

Yes, Lord, could you share your heart about that? A few I have been counseling lately continue to bring up what they want, what they desire and how they want to live their lives, but I fear that they will miss your will living this way. Rather they should seek you out before a decision is made. Can you address this, Lord, so that they may receive clarity and a burning desire to live for your will above everything else?

“Of course, My sweet little one. My beloved children, many of you can go around the mountain in one day’s journey or continue on in a 40-year journey of circles of disappointments, of attachments, of confusion and of worldly worries. I came to do the will of My Father. That was my food day and night and night and day.

(ref) John 4:34
“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work."

“There was not one moment that I didn’t not seek him out as to what to do, when to do it, what to say and even how to say it. We were one and because I was so yielded perfectly to His will, He was able to move freely in and through me. My beloved ones, that is what I desire of you. I prayed to the Father on the Eve of My Passion that you would be complete within the Trinity. That you would be one in us as we are in you. That you would remain in My love and to do that, would be to follow my commandments and that is by moment by moment.

John 17:21
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

John 15:9-10
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.”

Jesus continued,

“When you decide to follow me, to live for me and are called by me, you must relinquish all control to any rights you have. Any opinions, preferences, and desires if you want union with me. There are many who love me but live for themselves. Still making their own decisions and only after prayer move according to their desire, but not after My Will. But you are my brides, I am your spouse. In a marriage would you make a decision without first consulting the one you love? Then why do you make decisions without consulting Me? You have been so blessed with the tools of discernment I have given you and instructed you to use so that you may live more closely united to me moment by moment. But you continue to go off on your own because you don’t trust me and some don’t fully trust this vessel, I have given to you as your friend, covering, shepherd and Mother. When she gives council, many times, it is Me giving you council through her.

“My beloved ones, no longer live for yourself. Don’t choose where you want to live. Don’t plan your lives, and don’t put Me in a box within your time frame because you will be sorely disappointed and left empty, dry and wanting. How will you know you are in my will? You will have profound peace, you will have profound contentment, and you will feel the sweetness of my presence even though all hell may come against my will for you. You will stand confidently and boldly in the face of all opposition because you know in my will comes my protection. In my will comes, copious fruit that is eternal and not just temporary.

“Many of you are in a valley of decision and many more will be sifted and tested continuously, whether to choose their will or my will. To make a decision without consulting me is simply well, self- will which justifies your pride because you think you know best or presume what I would desire when many times you defer to what you want and what you expect.

“My beloved little ones my ways are so far above your ways, and I do write with crooked lines to get you to the expected end. While you would like to wait until things are at the preferred time for you to move in what I have called you to do, there are souls perishing whom I destined for you to meet. Your future is affected because the grace that await you in your obedience is now given to another and this loss of grace causes you to walk in less virtue, opening the door for the enemy to come into your life and that of your families even more so. Because it’s in your obedience that is your protection.

“Most importantly your relationship with me is affected. Although I make provision for your weakness and every mistake, you will find yourself dry, in desolation and all things around you dying because there is no life in your will, but in mine alone. In my will grace will abound, there you will find strength and all that you need. There your anointing lies, as you climb the mountain of perfection, brotherly love with more ease and there you will find growth and maturity.

“There you will find me, so my beloved brides please remove the yoke of your stubborn pride and self-will and come under my yoke which is light and easy. Although you may not understand, it and it may seem confusing to you, I am your good shepherd, and I will always lead you into good and fruitful pastures. Come, My beloved little ones, I am calling you much higher. Let go of self-will and let My will be your only food and your only desire—to do the work the Father sent you here to do, moment by moment.”

That was the end of Jesus’ message.

These are some firm words, but Jesus always shows the truth in the light of his mirror that we may serve him more perfectly. Self-will is so engrained in our nature and that is what the Lord is trying to kill, our flesh that we may die daily and that He may live in us. I was never taught to seek the Lord for everything, only major decisions, and most of the time I prayed for what I wanted and simply asked him to bless it. I lived and made decisions according to my preferences, how I felt and what I liked. If a situation was difficult whether it was a relationship, workplace, an activity or where lived I was out of there Or I gave up, looking for something else. I would plan months ahead, I would plan my summers, I would plan my days according to what I wanted to accomplish and my to do list. Or I would arrange things continuously in my favor always looking out for my best interest first and not anyone else’s that is also self-will.

Now I have come to realize what abandonment is. Truly being detached from every outcome or circumstance and abandoning myself completely into the Lords hands recognizing him in whatever comes knowing that he is good and has my best interest at heart. I now realize that he puts us in the worst situations to bring out the best in us as he reveals, the icky-ness of our own hearts, our selfishness and self-love so that we can conquer that and shine in virtues of patience, long suffering, brotherly love, the fruits of the spirit to name a few. So many times when we make decisions out of self will we miss God, and we miss what he is trying to do in us and through us. Simply purifying, sanctifying us and conforming us to his image through our acts of obedience. It’s not easy but if we have good intentions and make an act of good will to truly seek Jesus with a pure heart in every decision, he will help us and guide us all into his will.
