Panspermia and Cosmic Collisions

Neither the big bang theory, nor Darwinian evolution can explain the origin of life - so they punt. They suppose life began elsewhere and was brought to earth by meteors or asteroids. Cosmic Collisions are also used to solve pesky unsolvable problems like the origin of the moon, and the composition of Mercury.
