Change your Alarm clock to improve health

Who wants to wake up feeling fresher in the morning?

We all do right?

Our alarm clock plays a huge impact on our health and how we start our day

Waking up to an alarm is not what our bodies were designed to do. However I understand that many of us need an alarm to get up time for our work and responsibilities

So our focus must look at our alarm and how it wakes us up.

Having a shock to the system is damaging to our health, and many of the alarm settings on our IPhones give us that shock. The nosies are harsh, loud and disruptive

Add a snooze or two on top of that and repeat this cycle for years, you can see how much shock your body is taking. This shock puts us in a stress state first thing and we are already using up lots of energy to calm us back down again

Combine the stress of waking up, quickly followed by the stress of the negative news, social media and work. The brain is starting the day overloaded with information

Waking should be gradual, so if we are using alarms, focus on finding softer music that will gradually wake you up. There are so many studies to show this time and time again and I believe it is crucial that we pay more attention to how we start our days

The airlines have changed the way they wake their customers up during long haul flights because they eventually realised how they were impacting their clients health and moods by waking them up instantly

For the next 7 days. Change your alarm to a softer tone, cut out the snoozes and leave social media and emails Alone until you have fully waken

Notice the improvements in your mood and energy

Who here loves a snooze?
