Judicial Watch CDC In League With Facebook, 3653
Good evening, I’m still reporting on COVID.
According to Judicial Watch which just received nearly 2500 pages of documents through a lawsuit to force compliance with legal Freedom of Information Act requests from the CDC concerning it’s relationships with the big tech social media giants.
Facebook, for example, gave the CDC over $3.5 million dollars in free advertising credits to help control the COVID narrative and suppress “misinformation”, an example of which may have been to suppress the news of the mounting evidence about. The effectiveness of certain legacy medications against COVID-19 disease.
President Trump has mounted a lawsuit against the big tech social media giants claiming that they colluded with the federal government in order to control the COVID narrative and in exchange may have been promised that government would keep their hands of their Section 230 protections against lawsuits from the public.
Well, today Trump’s lawsuits just got a big shot in the arm with this breaking news from Judicial Watch because nothing could be better evidence of collusion than this material.
In an email exchange beginning on Jan. 26, 2020 with the subject line “Data for Good – CDC Intros”, a Facebook representative sends the Facebook coronavirus narrative to the CDC for their approval.
“Facebook is taking a three pronged approached to the global response for the coronavirus:
Prong #1: “Limit misinformation and other harmful content on our platforms. Our third-party fact-checkers have been rating information on this topic as false, including the AP, Politifact, AFP Hong Kong, Rapple IQ in the Philippines. As a result, we show people who come across that false content, accurate information from our fact-checking partners and strong warning labels.”
Beth has seen such warning labels appear on her content on FB, but I never have on any of the 6 FB pages I used to post to regularly.
Prong #2: “Provide accurate and helpful information on our platforms to our partners. Partners are already using our platforms to share accurate information about the situation, including ono [sic] Pages. We have also provided ad credits to the World Health Organization and the Philippines’ Department of Health to enable them to run coronavirus education campaigns on Facebook in-region, which we will continue to do. We’re continuing to explore additional steps we can take, including dedicated information modules on relevant search queries and improved search ranking.”
Improved search ranking? You can bet that my search ranking was like a minus 100.
Prong #3: “Empower partners with data tools. We’re sharing aggregated mobility data and high resolution density maps with various partners (e.g., National Tsinghua University (Taiwan); Harvard School oof Public Health) to help inform forecasting models for the spread of the virus as part of our broader Data for Good program….”
This email goes on to show that the CDC was given over $3.5 million in free advertising credits on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. And since we now know from their own emails that they were promoting content of those with whom they agreed politically, it is not a far stretch to imagine that although they would never admit it in any forum, they were demoting content which did not share Facebook’s and the CDC’s political points of view.
More proof! On March 14, 2020 then-CDC Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer Sherri Berger thanked Facebook for $2 million in ad credits.
“On behalf of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and by the authority delegated to me through Section 231 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. Section 238), as amended, thank you for Facebook’s non-monetary gift of advertising credited with an estimated value of $2,000,000. The gift will be used by CDC’s COVID-19 response to support dissemination of critical public health messaging. Thank you!”
There are many other emails showing similar collusion between the CDC and big tech. As Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton put it:
