A video for teenagers and parents of teenagers

If I could go back in time, there are many things that I would have done differently. Growing up I was very unconscious and life literally flew by

Typical lad, loved going out with mates, playing sports, getting smashed at the weekend and going away. These moments are for life and from the times I did remember, I did have fun

This is all part of growing up and a must for all teenagers. That being said, I wish I was future thinking and had more awareness to how my actions back then would influence my life journey now.

We must make changes as the stats are worrying

1/6 young people have common mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety

The most common death for boys and girls in 2017 was suicide. From the age of 5

Did you know that 11.5 million have less that £100 in savings

Nearly 9 million of us are in debt and of that 1/3 of

More than half of 22-29 year olds have no money saved or in their savings accounts

We are so ill as a nation and the 5 biggest killers are health related - heart disease, stroke, Cancer, lung and liver disease. Obesity is at an all time high, 20% of year 6 kids are now obese.

If we don’t take action now by introducing small and I mean small changes, our kids are going to grow up, overweight, stressed, financially unstable and stuck

Here are 5 areas that we should address early on. We must increase education and start thinking longer game. Let’s zoom out for the next 10 years. If we put the work in now when we are young, it will be automatic when we are older and we can then focus our energy on more important things

1. Health - when we are healthy, we can be best prepared for what life throws our way.
Go beyond exercise. Nutrition, sleep, silent time, mindset, being active, getting into flow. We should be encouraging this all the time

2. Learning - a big big one for me. My life has completely changed ever since I started reading and learning. School teaches us things that have no importance for us in life, and that association is attached to all forms of learning. Learn from people who have been there done that.

Hearing the stories of others will change your life. Have a think about things that you want to achieve in life and then seek out people who have been their done that.

If you are frowning at this, please start with 50 Cents book. Hustle Hard, Hustle Smart. That will give you the bug. Please reach out for more book recommendations

I can confidently say this, I would have made my millions by the time I was 25 if I put my energy into learning. Aim for 30 minutes per day. Keep thinking long game

Saving - put 10% of all income in a savings pot. Name it Financial Freedom and once the money goes in, it stays in. Get into good habits with this and in 10 years you will be laughing

Investing - investing in yourself is a must. To move forward we must invest. Investing in your health, a coach, a mentor, investments. Focus on the long game rather than the amount for individual sessions/purchase. It’s the knowledge that you take on that you will continue using. Spread that over years and it turns out to be a very small, worthwhile life changing investment

Learn from people who have been there, done that.

Appreciating - spend more time noticing and appreciating others. What you put out comes back. Pay attention to others actions and seek to be more grateful. When we are grateful, we bring more happiness back to our life.

There is so much we all can be doing. Think long game, focus on being healthy, learn, learn learn. Start saving early, invest in yourself and appreciate
