My Go-To Breakfast: Tone It Up Protein Waffle (2012-06-16)

There seemed to be a positive response when I asked if you guys would like me to share my version of the Tone It Up protein waffle with you in my May Favorites video, so here it is! I am including a link to the original recipe provided by Tone It Up below as well as the website where you can order the Perfect Fit Protein by Tone It Up. My Version of the Tone It Up Protein Waffle:

Ingredients:
~ 2 T Perfect Fit vanilla brown rice protein powder
~ 1/2 tsp cinnamon
~ 1 T unsweetened vanilla almond milk
~ 1/4 cup organic egg whites
~ 1 small-medium banana, mashed
~ 1T chocolate chips

Preheat your waffle iron to medium. In a small bowl, whisk together the protein powder, cinnamon, almond milk, & egg whites until incorporated. Add mashed banana & chocolate chips, whisking until blended into the batter. Once the waffle iron is ready, spray it with an even coat of canola oil non-stick cooking spray. Pour the batter into the center of the waffle iron and spread around evenly using a rubber spatula. Allow the waffle iron to cook in the open position for about a minute before gently closing the lid (to prevent spilling). Check the waffle after 3 minutes or so. You will know it's ready when it has cooked through evenly. Remove the waffle with a spatula, top with fresh berries & honey, & enjoy!
