20210731 Christmas In July - The Daily Summation

Is there something in which you REALLY believe? Something you're not interesting in disputing or debating (though you feel compelled to do so)?

Imagine there was a day, designed to celebrate that thing. Now imagine others co-opted that day and WORSE YET, replicated it, so they could "use" it for purposes virtually in DIRECT contravention to the intents of its origin.

That's how I feel when I hear things like "Christmas in July."

To be fair, this is really part of a larger problem.

I may not agree with folks on a variety of things they support, or believe in. That said, where I may express my disbelief, I DO NOT (certainly not by intent) belittle them for what they hold.

These days, that seems to be something people are far more willing to do.

Forgive me, but I REALLY DESIRE to go back to a time, when for the MOST PART, that was considered inappropriate.

Today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics, is on that subject.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
