Doom 64, Playthrough, Level 24 "No Escape" (Level Completed)

I don't think I beat this one fear and square.. I killed a huge demon trapped behind bars and then suddenly teleported from level 24 to level 28!!! Should I reload?? Is this a bug? It doesn't register as a "secret" in the end game screen for the level.. huh?!?
