And the reason you’d want to have somebody else do it for you is that there are a lot of moving parts to what is involved in the decision of whether your brand is trademarkable.
It's not just the absence of other identical trademarks on the register. It's a lot more than that. When we do the trademark search we also look at similar trademarks, we also look at trademarks that sound the same, that means the same thing, that looks the same or similar. We also look at whether the products and services covered by your trademark would be confusingly similar to the products and services in those other trademark applications.
We also look at a lot of formal issues like descriptiveness, genericness, whether your trademark would violate some other rules. There are a lot of moving parts.
