I often get many comments from Christians and Muslims asking why the Jewish People don't accept and follow these faiths. The answer is very simple, one cannot adhere to the Jewish faith while accepting Islam or Christianity. They are not compatible and contradict each other.

While they both come and present a narrative about how they don't contradict anything that's written in the Hebrew Bible, often ironically claiming their religion "fulfills" the Hebrew Bible, it's simply not true.

It is also important to remember that the Jewish People inherited the Oral Torah in addition to the Hebrew Bible. This is the ancient tradition of how the Torah is kept. Much of this Oral Tradition was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai and passed down through the generations. Other parts of the Oral Torah were the rulings and debates of the prophets, Jewish courts, and sages in the generations that followed. Following the Oral Torah is itself following a Biblical Commandment, as Israel is commanded to follow the Torah teachers and judges who will come in later generations.

So as new religions came along and tried to explain the truth of God truth in new ways, these explanations might have been very enticing for the pagan population whose eyes were not opened to the concept of One God. For the Jewish population, however, these new beliefs and teachings contradicted the tradition that was passed down since Mt. Sinai.
