Being prepared makes life so much easier

When you are made aware you can better handle any given situation that comes your way.

A paramedic would know exactly what to do if a person had blood gushing out of them. Where as this same situation would be highly stressful and disturbing for most others having to witness that

Same thing applies to sports. Chris Hoy in the Olympics was taken through a number of visualisations and what if scenarios. His coach suggested that every rider before Chris came in with World Records. On the day of the event, the riders before actually achieved World Records.

Chris stayed calm as he had already imagined this and worked on keeping focussed

This then got me thinking. Imagine if we prepared our kids to go into the big bad world rather than protect them from it? They will be going into it either way

Let’s take teenage daughters. A difficult thing for any father to deal with when other men enter her life. All we want is for them to be happy and to be looked After.

Understandably many dads are quite over protective of their daughters and I beleive it’s because they know what men are like. Rather than protecting them from guys. Why don’t we teach them what guys are like? Let’s face it, men are very similar, no matter where you go around the world.

Teach them the warning signs. Get them to notice if the guys are into them or just messing around. Help them call out bs and let them realise that they always have the power and the final say.

Men have their agendas, so help them understand what to look for

Teach them what a good man looks like as there are plenty of us out there

If they know this, then they can make the right choices for them

I would like to again mention that I am coming at this from a coach that is observing especially when it comes to parenting. It is an area that I am really interested in
