If Republicans and Democrats Were Characters in Shakespeare...

Shakespeare's Richard the Second is the story about the showdown between a weak king--a decent but stupid guy who talks well but does nothing--and a vicious, unscrupulous, relentless usurper. I see here a close parallel to the showdown between the Republicans and the Democrats.
