Is the 1/6 Inquiry an Insult to Law Enforcers?

Don’t @ me if you think I’m dismissive of what happened on January 6th. I’m not. Violence that stems from Constitutionally protected activity is never acceptable. EVER. Not on January 6th and not during the “summer of love”. Violence against any law enforcement officer in ANY circumstance is also unacceptable.

This is once again exploitive of them men and women of law enforcement. KEEP POLITICS OUT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Some of the testimony I heard yesterday churns my stomach. Both because of what happened, and because of why the story is now being told, at times with a tinge of drama.

Social media posts of Officer Dunn indicate that he has an axe to grind. I found it disgraceful that he brought up Officer Brian Sicknick and used his good name for theater. He mischaracterized the death of a fellow law enforcement officer to get attention. That’s where he lost me. Let him Rest In Peace with respect and reverence.

Debate it all you want. I’m an ardent supporter of law enforcement, and hope for the best for ALL of the officers that were affected by January 6th, whether physically or mentally. But for God’s sake, stop politicizing this profession.

It’s hard enough as it is, and we are supposed to be the world’s referees, not player-coaches for any team other than true victims.
