Synopsis:
The Novel take place in the year 2126, when a Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or DMMORPG called YGGDRASIL is coming to an end after 12 years of service. And the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown, with Mononga being the only member left, once consisting of 41 members.

While Mononga decides to stay logged in until the servers shut down, Momonga finds that the game hasn't vanished; instead, it appears as if Nazarick has been transported to another reality altogether along with its various NPCs gaining sentience. With no other option, Momonga sets out to learn if anyone from the real world is also in this new world with him, inheriting the name of the guild, Ainz Ooal Gown.About the

Author:
Muchimuchi Puririn was his pen name when he first started Overlord. He later changed his pseudonym to Kugane Maruyama when Overlord was published. His short story, Dawn, has been adapted in Kagetsu Tohya, which is Type-Moon's sequel to their earlier doujin visual novel game, Tsukihime, released in August 2001.

His works were praised by Nasu Kinoko, the writer of Fate/Stay Night. Maruyama gave up the dream of becoming a writer for a time. He is a fan of Dungeon and Dragon, and when his buddies are too busy to play Dungeon and Dragon with him, he started writing again, which brought us this master piece that is Overlord.
