Russians Discover Nazi Arctic Base

in 2016 the Russians discovered a long-abandoned Nazi base in the Arctic. We're not really sure why the base (probably more like an outpost) was set up. Supposedly some Russian border guards and troops in the '50s knew about the base, and the base was destroyed. I only saw this mentioned in one article on the topic, so I'm not entirely sure if the base was destroyed by the Soviets in a fantastical sense, or if they just knocked it down, or looted it and left it for ruin.

The Russian scientists have gathered up the over 500 artefacts for transport back to a museum in Russia. I tried finding some updated information regarding the base but couldn't find anything. I'll look again some other time and see if we can get some updated information!
