How can we bring the body into
“subjection” to the will of God?
How do we deal with the “strongholds” of sin on our flesh?
How did God reconcile the church to himself?
How does a healthy relationship like the ideal marriage work towards unity?
What can we learn from these relationships and apply to all the examples they elude to?
Father loves the Son, Son trusts and obeys the Father
Christ loves the Church, church reciprocates
Husband loves the wife, wife reciprocates
Christ is the head (Mind), church is the body (flesh)
With the mind we serve God, with the body sin.
BUT
The body should be in “subjection” to the mind….. the mind of Christ
Like the wife is to submit to the husband (the husband who is IN a the Lord.
The husband is to recognize his role to serve the “weaker vessel”, his wife.
The body is the weaker vessel too.
The body like the wife has feelings and input and does feel safe and when her input is ignored and not sought after.
When we ignore the body and don’t try to understand and reason with it trust is eroded and we end up with bad habits and acts of rebellion, even stress based diseases.
