Just Finished the Book “Strange Fire” by John MacArthur

Being raised Charismatic, I wish I had been encouraged to see the counter arguments and to know what I believed. Instead, I was pressured to feel like it was a “lack of faith” on my part- like I’m some sort of a Doubting Thomas. In reality, I am glad to be walking in God’s will and according to His Word. I am grateful for the clarity and purity coming from sound doctrine. There are 7 pages of Scriptural references in the back of the book! This is a sure relief from the muddled confusion and mysticism of new spiritualities like the modern Charismatic Movement and the NAR. Whose literary arguments don’t come even close to passing the test of Scripture!
