PHILIPPINES, WEIGHTLIFTER HIDILYN DIAZ WON THE FIRST OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL WITH A SPECTACULAR LAST LIFT AT THE TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FORUM.
Diaz won the women's 55 kilogram event in spectacular fashion, defeating Chinese favorite and world record holder Liao Qiuyun in her last try.
Diaz won by 1kg against Liao with a score of 97-127-224.
She is the first non-Chinese woman to compete in weightlifting.
