Macquarie Street bollard construction intriguing in context of Sydney lockdown

http://www.matthaydenblog.com In recent months a row of bollards has been installed in front of NSW State Parliament House. They are clearly there to increase protection of the building and those entering and leaving it from vehicular terror attacks. This is intriguing given that this threat has largely waned in recent years. Perhaps the current COVID-related crackdown on Fairfield, which has many Muslims living there, has something to do with this?
