SERMON NOTES

Let God Have His Way
(Ezekiel 36:22-32)
'“Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God : “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord ,” says the Lord God , “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations. Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations. Not for your sake do I do this, ” says the Lord God , “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel!”'

I. Respect The Name (Ezekiel 36:22-26)
• Good Morning!! I am so glad that you are here with us today!
• Today we are looking into the book of Ezekiel. This is a powerful section that we are examining today.
• In Verse 22, God is making it known to Ezekiel that the reason that He is acting is for His name’s sake.
• Q. What is the importance of your name? Why is it important? (Expound on this). (Read Matthew 6:6-7, Lev. 11:45)
• Knowing the fact that the Israelites names are directly connected to attribute/characteristics of God, His reasoning is justified. (EXPOUND)

II. God’s Cleansing Grace Bestowed (Jer. 31:31-34)
 As we continue to examine our text for today, we see that God addresses their sins/failures!
 If we look back in the Books of the Law, we see that God makes it abundantly clear what His standards are. And unfortunately, we see that the people keep screwing up (missing the mark). God makes serving Him so simple, and we are constantly messing up. But this is the Great Thing about God. He is always giving us a way to be brought back to a right relationship.
 He also makes it apparent that forgiveness is available. “But if there is one thing, He does make sure it’s understood is, that the “HEART” is important.
 It is at the heart of the matter! (Emphasize v.26

III. Standing On The Promises! (John 3:16)
• As we come to the end of the text, we see that God is continuing to tell us of His promises!
• Don’t you just love God for His faithfulness! The other thing that is so wonderful to behold is His Stately Stature. God is showcasing to us His regal and glorious visage.
• God lets us know that everything He is doing is for His Names Sake!
• God wants us to know that we can trust in Him! And He wants us to carry ourselves in a way that showcases His nature!
• We are called to be His witnesses! Ambassador
• God doesn’t want us to fail!!! He wants us to succeed!!! But He wants us to remember our past not live in it!
• This is why, “WE LOVE JESUS!!!” (Romans 5:8)
• Choose Jesus Today!!!
