In our continuing Founders & Framers series, we take a look at Richard Stockton--signer of the Declaration of Independence and lawyer-patriot. He was the only signer to have been captured and imprisoned by the Crown. He faced immense torture and persecution which undoubtedly shortened his life. He never saw the full establishment of America but he was vital to its birth.
