As Celebrities Stand Up for Cuba, Biden Stands Down

Recently, President Biden called on the Cuban government to refrain from violence against their people during a period of extreme civil unrest. He did not call upon the government of Cuba to rethink its historically oppressive communist regime and give the people the freedom they yearn for. Although the President is refusing to take a strong stance in this matter, celebrities have begun speaking up against Cuba’s oppressive regime. Popular rapper and singer Pitbull called for people to “Stand up, step up … and wake up, because this is about freedom and it’s about human rights.” This declarative statement sounds like it should be coming from our government. Instead, it’s coming from a celebrity.
