The United Arab Republic (UAR; Arabic: الجمهورية العربية المتحدة) was a sovereign state in the Middle East from 1958 to 1971. It was initially a union between Egypt and Syria until 1961. Egypt continued to be known officially as the United Arab Republic until 1971.
"Walla Zaman Ya Selahy" (Arabic: والله زمان يا سلاحي) was the national anthem of the United Arab Republic (UAR) until 1971 and national anthem of Egypt until 1979. Though the UAR disbanded in 1961, Egypt retained it as the official name of the state until 1971, and used its national anthem.
