BODYCAM: Suspect Shoots 2 EMT's, Fire Captain, Kids Found Alive - Tucson Officer Shoots Him

TUCSON, ARIZONA - TPD (Tucson Police Department) released footage of an incident where a Tucson officer shoots a gunman who opened fire on bystanders & first responders.

On July 18, 2021, a 35-year-old suspect left a house fire located in 2100 block of E. Irene Vista and then opened fire at an America Medical Response ambulance, that was stationed at Quincie Douglas Center, in reference to an unrelated medical incident.

Authorities said the suspect shot an AMR EMT in the head and shot another EMT in the chest and arm in connection to the incident.

The suspect then returned to the scene of the house fire, where he shot at firefighters and bystanders near the home, injuring a Tucson Fire Department chief and killing a man. He then fled the in a silver SUV. While the officers were responding to the scene, the suspect rammed a TPD vehicle with his vehicle then opened fire on the officer. The officer then exited his patrol vehicle and returned fire, striking the suspect. - LEO Perspective
