અમે રસ્તામાં આવતા મુકામ...

તમે કાગળ પર લાગણીની ખળખળતી ધાર,

અમે હાંસિયાના જાણે કિનારા...

તમે ચંદનના ઝાડવેથી ઝરતી સુગંધ,

અમે સુક્કા તે બાવળની ડાળ...

તમે આભ લગી જાવાની ઉંચી કેડી,

અમે કેડીનો ઉતરતો ઢાળ...

તમે બાગના એ ફૂલોનો જાણે શણગાર,

અમે માટીના કૂંડા ને ક્યારા...

તમે શ્રધ્ધાની ઝળહળતી સોનેરી જ્યોત,

અમે કોડિયામાં અંધારું ઘોર...

તમે શબરીના હોઠ પર મલકાતું નામ,

અમે શબરીના ચાખેલા બોર...

તમે મંદિરની સન્મુખ છો ઝાલર રણકાર,

અમે દૂર રહી વાગતા નગારા...
