My Fair Lady vs The Sound of Music - Dissing the Big Broadway Adaptations

By the 1960s, the film musical had either evolved or devolved into extremely expensive adaptations of Broadway hits. Some of these adaptations, such as West Side Story, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, and Oliver would go on to win Best Picture. Others would be such colossal failures that they killed the genre more or less for good. In this episode, Hisato, Tye and Dan discuss these big musicals and a host of other things associated with them.
