Teaching critical race theory isn’t just wrong. It might be illegal

In schools across the country, woke teachers and left-wing parent activists are promoting critical race theory, a disturbing philosophical framework founded in radical, racially charged concepts about culture, society, and government.

According to critical race theorists, virtually all of society’s problems should be viewed within the context of alleged systemic racism, which all people have a solemn duty to root out at any cost — including by promoting other forms of racism.

Ibram X. Kendi, a leading advocate of critical race theory, summarized this troubling idea in his popular book How to Be an Antiracist.

In 1851, a man called Samuel Cartwright came up with a fairly sophisticated scientific explanation for why so many slaves were running away from plantations in the American south. These fugitive slaves, Cartwright explained were suffering from a medical disorder. It was called "Drapetomania." it was a syndrome characterized by an uncontrollable or insane impulsion to wander.

Canadian MP caught naked during telework for second time in a month

A Canadian MP has stepped down from some of his duties and said he is seeking "assistance" after being caught on camera urinating during a video conference in Parliament, a month after appearing naked in another virtual session.

"Last night, while attending House of Commons proceedings virtually, in a non-public setting, I urinated without realizing I was on camera," MP William Amos wrote on his Twitter account Thursday night.

"I am deeply embarrassed by my actions and the distress they may have caused anybody who witnessed them," he added. "While accidental and not visible to the public, this was completely unacceptable, and I apologize unreservedly."

Hamilton field hospital that never treated any patients to be dismantled

Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) has been told to take down a field hospital in the city just over a month after it opened its doors.

The Ministry of Health has directed HHS to dismantle the 17,000 square foot Mobile Health Unit effective immediately.

The structure was built to treat patients from across Ontario in the event of extreme pressure on the healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The unit was set up in a parking lot on Wellington St. near the Hamilton General Hospital.

It is configured for up to 80 patient beds. However, the hospital never treated a single patient inside. It was meant for individuals with acute medical needs who would only be in hospital for a short stay as well as patients who were close to discharge.

Multiculturalism: A Failed Policy
