Red-bellied woodpeckers

The Red-bellid woodpeckers of the eastern U.S. that has a miedium sized birds. That has a barred black and white black, grayish-tan underparts tinged with red on the belly, and red crow and nape in the male and a red nape in the female. Adults weigh about 72.5 grams range 56-91 g and are 22.9 to 26.7 cm long. They have a wingspan of 38 to 46 cm. Males are about 8-9% large, on average than females.
